On of the most beautiful cycle routes which goes along the river and passes through 3 counties: Salzburg, Styria and Upper Austria. The Ennsradweg cycle route starts at an altitude of 1200 m at Flachauwinkl in Salzburg and ends in Enns at a height of 281 m.
The first stage is dominated by the magnificent highland, several lakes and the quietly flowing river Enns. We get to the medieval city of Schladming and so to Haus im Ennstal where SissiPark is situated via rigorous, light Dachstein massiveness to the left and dark, crystalline rock of the Low Tauern to the right. The road which gets visibly broader leads next to the stunning Trautenfels castle to the most spectacular stage of the tours. At the entrance of the Gesäuse National Park the so far quiet river Enns becomes speedy and rumbling.
The road guides us next to sleepy villages and romantic cities as the old market town of Steyr till we reach the cycle route along the Danube. The Ennsradweg cycle route is symbolized with a “R7“ in Styria.
