Dachtsein glacier

Dachstein Glacier is located above the town of Ramsau am Dachstein in Austria at 2996 meters above the sea level.

The glacier is CLOSED because of reconstruction until 2024 spring!

The magnificent Dachstein Glacier

Dachstein is the second highest mountain peak, glacier of the Northern Limestone Alps.

The untouched ski area of the Dachstein Glacier is ideal for the beginners, because there are three disc lifts and a double-seat chair lift available. In addition, the international summer ski cross-country sports center has 15 kilometers of maintained trails and a snowboard funpark welcoming skiing enthusiasts. In the summer season, only the upper slopes of the glacier are suitable for skiing.

The attraction of the place is the ice palace that has been sculptured in the glacier's ice as a result of almost one year's work. Unfortunately however, as a process of global warming, the size and thickness of the glacier is decreasing year after year, so you should seize the opportunity and try the glacier skiing experience!

You can reach the Dachstein Glacier’s skilift from SissiPark either by car or by bus. The glacier can be easily accessed by bus: first take the bus from Haus im Ennstal to Schladming and then the one from Schladming station to the Dachstein Glacier.
