Night becomes day once a year in Schladming and on the Planai - on the pistes as well as in the lively world championship host region itself!
The Nightrace - Men’s World Cup Night Slalom
The world's skiing elite meet to test themselves in the spectacular Night World Cup Slalom on the 23rd and 24th of January.
Every tenth of a second counts, even under the illuminated starry skies. Millions of viewers traditionally sit in front of the television on this night and get involved in the excitement. Around 50,000 fans scrummage in the finish area and along the piste itself, cheer on the stars and ensure that the atmosphere is cooking. All around the race and in the huge new tent there is partying until the early hours and beyond. Plenty of real enthusiasts even come to Schladming several days before to really "prepare" for the big race.
